Keynote Speakers | 2016
We are pleased to announce Dr. Carl Hart of Columbia University and Tom Moseman of Envirosell Inc. as our 2016 keynote speakers.
Dr. Carl Hart is an associate professor of psychology and psychiatry at Columbia University. He has also published nearly 100 scientific articles in the area of neuropsychopharmacology. Dr. Hart will be presenting the keynote address on what we have learned from drugs and addiction and how we can apply those lessons on gambling. Drugs face many of the same stigma, policy, and access issues as gambling, and as such provide our industry with lessons already learned in improving social welfare.
Tom Moseman is the Senior Vice President of Envirosell Inc., a multi-national consumer behaviour research and consulting firm. Pairing research results with his extensive experience, Tom will discuss how location, design and display of responsible gambling information in a casino impacts the player’s perception of Responsible Gambling programs.

Dr. Carl Hart is an Associate Professor at Columbia University. He has also published nearly 100 scientific articles in the area of neuropsychopharmacology, and was named one of the Most Creative People for 2014 by Fast Company magazine. His recent book, “High Price: A Neuroscientist’s Journey of Self-Discovery That Challenges Everything You Know About Drugs and Society,” was the 2014 winner of the PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award.

Envirosell Senior Vice President, Tom Moseman joined the team in 1989 and currently oversees both domestic and international business development. Envirosell is a pioneer in researching consumer shopping behaviour in retail and service environments. They developed the "Science of Shopping,” analyzing the interaction between people and products, and people and commercial spaces. They study where products and people meet, combining traditional market research techniques, anthropological observation methodologies and video recordings.
Moseman has been featured as a keynote speaker and presenter at a wide range of industry conferences and private corporations, and for such diverse groups as the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, National Confectioner’s Association, the National Hockey League and the Association of Brazilian Advertisers along with many others.
