Dr. Cristian Suvagau | 2014 Speakers

Dr. Cristian Suvagau has been practicing and teaching lighting design and energy efficiency for over 25 years. A senior lighting and energy management engineer with BC Hydro, he focuses on lighting demand side management programs and projects in British Columbia (B.C.).
Dr. Suvagau is a professional engineer, a member of the board of directors of the B.C. Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and a member of the Canadian National Committee of the International Commission on Illumination. He is a lighting certified (LC) professional and a certified energy manager (CEM). He holds a PhD in lighting (Contribution on Calculation Methods for Indoor Lighting Systems) from the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, Romania and participates actively on several committees – the Canadian Standards Association, the U.S. Department of Energy Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium, Consortium for Energy Efficiency, and the Design Lighting Consortium – to develop performance standards for LED and lighting products.
Dr. Suvagau teaches lighting for continuous education and hosts numerous technical lighting seminars for audiences in Europe and North America
