Casinos in Local Communities: Experiences and Outcomes
Casinos can have both positive and negative impacts on their host local governments and surrounding communities. For any region going through expansion, a number of questions are therefore raised: How does a gambling facility impact the local economy? What social issues can emerge? What is the process for consultation and approval? Our exclusive panelists include an activist, a regulator, an operator and a public health specialist, all of whom will share their unique experiences and perspectives on topics such as: gaining public support for a gambling facility; assessing economic and public health impacts; and changing needs with respect to community and stakeholder relations.
